Amitabha Empowerment: The Buddha of Limitless Light

The Buddha Amitabha represents the discerning wisdom of enlightenment, and is associated with the realm of Great Bliss, a pure realm of experience particularly conducive to spiritual progress.

The Amitabha empowerment enables students to engage in the visualization and recitations of the Amitabha practice. A devoted practitioner can experience their Buddha nature, and merge with the enlightened nature of the Buddha Amitabha, in the pure realm of Great Bliss or Dewachen.

The mantra of Amitabha "Om Ami Dewa Hrih" is particularly effective because it embodies the “speech of all the Buddhas.”

Join us this weekend as we embark on a "Mani Retreat" by reciting and chanting the melodious mantra of Amitabha. Rinpoche will complete the program by giving an Amitabha Empowerment and teach about the pure realm of Dewachen.

Cherenzig Empowerment & Mani Retreat

Date: 27 July 2019

Time: 8.00 am - 5.30 pm

Location: Cabra-Vale Diggers

Chenrezig is the embodiment of all the buddhas’ compassion and love. The literal translation of his name means “The One Who Beholds With Loving Eyes”. Chenrezig’ s brilliant white body represents the luminosity of primordial wisdom, the spark of enlightenment.

H.H. The 17th Karmapa explained that the practice of Chenrezig consists of closing the gap between the practitioner and the practice, so there is no difference between the person meditating and the love and compassion they are cultivating. In the end, this distance completely disappears so that the practitioner becomes the very nature of love and compassion.

“Meditating on the deity Chenrezig, the Buddha of compassion, helps cultivate a more loving, accepting and caring sense of self-worth,”writes Psychologist Rob Preece.

The mantra of Chenrezig "Om Mani Padme Hum" is particularly effective because  as H.H. The 14th Dalai Lama states- the six syllables mean that in dependence on the practice of a path which is an indivisible union of method and wisdom, you can transform your impure body, speech, and mind into the pure exalted body, speech, and mind of a Buddha.

As Lama Zopa explains - Reciting OM MANI PADME HUM has merit as limitless as the sky. Even Buddha can never finish explaining the unbelievable purification and collection of extensive merit brought by reciting OM MANI PADME HUM.

Join us this weekend as we embark on a "Mani Retreat" by reciting and chanting the melodious mantra of  Chenrezig. Rinpoche will complete the program by giving a Cherenzig Empowerment and teach about the practice of compassion in our daily life.
